Are You Ready To Promote Your Business In This Time Of Accelerated Online Shopping!

How do we promote our businesses now in this time of accelerated online shopping, even Halloween will be different? Are you ready?

Companies have to be creative, for example, some are offering online as well as in-person activities packages,  local examples include companies, such as Improbable Escapes in Kingston, which is offering online, live-action (as in real life) and outdoor games to play! Cocoa Bistro Artisan Chocolates has found success in its High Tea for 2 delivered to your door promotion and local fashion boutiques are offering virtual personal styling and shopping services.

It does not surprise us to see the grit, determination, and creativity from our small businesses in Kingston as they execute the "art of the pivot”, but they will also NEED our support to flourish.

There is a great opportunity for us to look at our challenges differently. With online shopping, we can find customers anywhere in Canada and beyond our borders!! We will need a new mindset and there are organizations now offering their expertise to guide us in this “new normal”. In this issue, we have listed many of these resources from government and private sector to help you digitize your business and take advantage of these new opportunities.

In addition, if you are looking for some marketing help, we at WMB have the privilege of working with many talented professionals in our region and have created the digital Branding - Build Up Your Business Solutions  packages for your growing business needs! We are just a phone call or zoom meeting away and would love to talk to you. Reach out!

October Is Small Business Month

A BIG shout out to our online Community Members at Women Mean Business Network!

How are organizations helping to keep local small businesses afloat in a difficult time?

Some of these initiatives can inspire us as well.

One example is CFB Kingston’s Personnel Support Programs (PSP) which continues to support local businesses.
PSP Kingston provides Kingston military community members with a full range of fitness, sports, and recreation activities. Over the past eight months, they have pivoted to offer their members virtual programs and webinars. PSP Kingston takes great pride inworking and establishing relationships with local businesses to support their efforts.   They understand the struggle that many local businesses are facing with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and have been reaching out to support these businesses.

Since March 2020, this includes the purchase of gift cards, vouchers, and small items by Messes to engage with their mess membership virtually. When running contests on social media, PSP Kingston has also been tagging local businesses to provide them with additional brand awareness and promotion.

Please do feel free to share with us other examples of supporting local in our community.
