Employment Services

Services for Job Seekers

Your job is out there. We'll help you find it. ACFOMI Employment Services provide bilingual services to job seekers who want to integrate the labour market or reorient their career. It also provides job seekers with information on various programs and subsidies offered by Employment Ontario.

Our Employment Services team is dedicated to ensuring that both French and English youth and adults are prepared to find work that meets their expectations.

Whether you are new to Kingston or looking for your next challenge, our employment advisors can help you find a job that suits you.  We offer resources, support services, job search assistance and tools for job seekers.

Services for Youth

Employment Ontario Youth programs have been designed to help young people find and keep employment.

The objectives of these programs are to provide a platform for youth to learn the required work ethic and become more competent to succeed in a job, summer work, part-time, full-time or career-based employment.

Our job placements give youth an opportunity to learn work skills while earning income.

ACFOMI Employment Services provides English and French recruitment services for employers wishing to receive personalized services.

·        Help to identify human resource needs

• Assessment of skills, aptitudes and interests of potential workers in relation to business needs
• Help in developing a realistic work experience plan or on-the-job training plan for the participants of Job Matching
• Participant support and resolving workplace issues that may impact the employers’ ability to meet business goals
• Financial incentives to offset some of the costs of their commitment to an effective work experience or on-the-job training placement, when appropriate and necessary

Bonjour Welcome campaign

Businesses that can offer any form of service in French are invited to participate in the Bonjour Welcome Campaign. The campaign aims to

1. Encourage the public to request services in French; and

2. Encourage business and organizations to offer services in both official languages

Businesses that are able to offer some services in French are added to our website, the provincial website of the campaign and are promoted in our social media.

Franco-Foire

A fun and festive event, the Franco-Foire aims to showcase services and products offered in French that are available in Kingston and the Thousand Islands region. The fair takes place every year in October.

Free for both exhibitors and visitors, this event is a great way to showcase your services.

Settlement Services

ACFOMI welcomes you to Kingston and the Thousand Islands region!

The Welcoming and Settlement Centre by ACFOMI helps immigrant newcomers in their settlement process and employment.

The Welcoming and Settlement Centre helps immigrant newcomers to Kingston with a personalized plan that evaluates their needs and guides them through their settlementprocess. A personalized settlement plan can include other services likelanguage learning or entrepreneurial support with a mentor program.

All the services of the Welcoming and Settlement Centre are available in both official languages of Canada, French and English. The Welcoming and Settlement Centre is financed by Immigration, Refugee, Citizenship Canada.
